Emily Allchurch reinvents Old Master paintings and produces capricci with a contemporary narrative.
The idea for the “Inspired by…” series came from wanting to share the influences and reflections I draw from within my creative work. At art school I was taught to search for inspiration in the world around me, recording my inspiration involved keeping sketchbooks (they’re on my book shelves still) to call upon as part of my design process. Today I’m less analog, primarily digital and, as I continue my search for inspiration in the world around me, blogging is a great way to record my influences. Think of these posts as pages from a virtual sketch book. I’ve put the references at the end of each if you want to find out more. Thank you for reading!
